Our goal of providing you and your loved ones with the highest level of healthcare available in the area remains steadfast. We offer the area’s only Level III OB unit, OB-ED and Level III NICU. 

Every pregnancy is unique and sometimes requires extra monitoring and care. That’s why we provide advanced prenatal care to keep you and your baby safe during pregnancy and birth. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) doctors have specialized training and experience in the care of high-risk mothers and their babies. St. Francis MFM provides you with direct access to advanced care, counseling and diagnostic services. It is the highest level of specialized care in a family-friendly environment for both you and your baby. This also includes inpatient care for women with high-risk pregnancies and the most advance fetal intervention available. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic requires a referral from your primary OB.

Our MFM specialists work with your obstetrician to offer total obstetrical care for all types of pregnancy complications. Your OB may refer you to see a MFM specialist if you have:

• Abnormal screening results
• Fetal congenital anomalies
• Fetal growth restriction
• Prior pregnancy complications such as fetal loss, cervical incompetence, preterm birth, or preeclampsia
• Morbidly adherent placenta (MAP)
• Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS)
• Advanced maternal age (age 35 and up at the time of delivery)
• Have a chronic medical condition such as diabetes, hypertension or obesity
• Placenta previa

Our specialist can treat or refer you to other specialists who have extensive training in the management of complex conditions that may require surgery on your fetus, such as:

• Myelomeningocele (Spina Bifida)
• Twin to twin transfusion (TTTS)
• Twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP)
• Lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO)
• Congenital heart defects
• Congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM)
• Fetal anemia/ Intrauterine transfusion (IUT)
• Hydrops
